Russell Westbrook Officially Releases Debut Signature Jordan Brand Shoe

Thunder G Russell Westbrook on Saturday officially released the Westbrook 0's, his debut signature shoe from Jordan Brand, and the shoe has a "surprising tame look to it when considering Westbrook's often outlandish fashion style," according to Anthony Slater of the OKLAHOMAN. Westbrook was the "lead designer" on the footwear, which is a "versatile and crisp-looking lifestyle shoe, not the traditional basketball sneaker." He said, "Growing up, I always wanted to do a basketball shoe. But the different things I do off the floor in the fashion world and the different things I'm associated with outside of basketball, I thought it was a good idea to do something different, that hasn't been done before." Slater noted other NBAers, including Thunder F Kevin Durant, have shoe lines with a "few lifestyle pairs off their popularized basketball sneakers." But Westbrook said, "I just have straight lifestyle. That makes it kinda different." The shoes will retail at $130, with the "black and white colorways the only two going on sale nation-wide this week.” A red version "will be released in August," with more colors coming later in the year (OKLAHOMAN, 7/12).
