High Fly Ball: MLB.TV To Be Featured On JetBlue's In-Flight Wireless Package

MLBAM has struck a deal with JetBlue to be a featured partner on the airline’s Fly-Fi in-flight wireless service. The alignment will offer Fly-Fi customers flying within the U.S. free access to the MLB.TV out-of-market streaming package, in essence representing complimentary one-day subscriptions to the service that typically costs $129.99 for a full season. JetBlue has installed Fly-Fi, which promises true broadband speeds, on nearly all of its Airbus fleet with plans to soon follow suit on its Embraer planes. The premium level of Fly-Fi that supports in-flight video streaming typically costs $9 per hour, but MLB.TV will instead be positioned on a free tier previously pegged to more basic web surfing. Financial terms of the MLBAM-JetBlue alignment were not disclosed. Other featured partners for Fly-Fi include Harper Collins, Vice, and Time Inc.
