Indiana AD Fred Glass Says Assembly Hall Renovations Are On Track, On Budget

Indiana AD Fred Glass said the school's renovations to Assembly Hall are "on track, on budget and on time," according to Chris Goff of the Ft. Wayne JOURNAL GAZETTE. Glass: "I’m more and more excited about the future of that as we actually see physical changes to the building. ... The building was just deteriorating. We had to address all the stuff people don’t see, the mechanical, the engineering, the plumbing, but that are critical to maintaining it as a viable building. We took the opportunity to not only do those necessary things but also do some things I do think jazz the place up a bit without infringing on that iconic court and seating configuration." He added, "We’ll have a new front door facing campus. I think that will be a nice, dramatic entryway for fans to enjoy. We’ll have a new JumboTron scoreboard that I think will enhance fans’ experiences, especially fans that are up in the balconies that maybe don’t have the greatest sightlines in comparison to people down in the lower bowl. The concession stand improvement, restroom improvement, branding throughout, the new elevators in the north side and south side -- all those things help the fan experience. Some new premium seating will help provide an amenity in that way but very importantly help us provide a revenue stream to funnel resources back into Assembly Hall so that it won’t get in the same disrepair that it was in now" (Ft. Wayne JOURNAL GAZETTE, 6/28).
