Adidas Launches Wiggins' Signature Shoe; Durant Gets Personal With Latest Nike Release

adidas on Tuesday unveiled T'Wolves F Andrew Wiggins' $140 Crazylight Boost '15 home edition, which will "celebrate the successful first season for Wiggins and pay homage to his Canadian roots in the process," according Zach Harper of CBSSPORTS.com. There "are little white maple leafs all over the shoes with contrasting blue accents to make the pattern pop." The "AW" has a maple leaf in the middle of the "A." adidas calls the shoe "their most innovative shoe to date with a Primeknit upper section of the shoe designed to give flexibility and comfort while having enhanced breathability" (CBSSPORTS.com, 6/23).

THIS IS YOUR LIFE: SI.com's Tim Newcomb reported in a "major change" for Nike's KD8 -- and a first for any Nike basketball sneaker -- the new shoe from Thunder F Kevin Durant's line "uses Nike’s fresh Flyweave technology, an engineered textile built stronger than the similar Flyknit we’ve grown accustomed to" (SI.com, 6/23). BLOOMBERG NEWS’ Hannah Elliott noted the “entire line of new color options” for the KD8 “relates directly” to Durant’s life. Among the options is the KD8 V8, which is “the same color as the Chevy Camaro V8 Durant had customized” in ’10. Another is the KD8 July 4th, which “as expected,” comes in a red, white and blue color schematic. There is also a “vibrant purple option called the Suit,” which “matches the eggplant blazer” Durant wore last year when he accepted the MVP trophy” (BLOOMBERG.com, 6/23).
