NBA Sets Merch, Per Caps Record During Finals, With Snapback Hat Among Best Sellers

The NBA is calling its recently completed Finals record-breaking for venue merchandise sales. NBA Senior VP/Sales Development & Retail Marketing Chris Brennan said this year’s Finals had the highest ever per caps and highest average sales per game, with Game 5 at Oracle Arena and Game 4 at Quicken Loans Arena topping the list. Additionally, on Wednesday, the day after the Warriors won the team's first championship in 40 years was the top sales day ever for the NBA's online store. Brennan said that keeping in mind the Finals were a six-game series, “we were certainly off the charts." The top-selling product was a gray and black adidas Warriors Champions Locker Room snapback hat. Brennan added, “That cap is almost impossible to find now, unless you got to Ebay." Fanatics operates the NBA’s e-commerce and sales of Warriors merch across the entire Fanatics platform, which includes NBAStore.com and Fanatics.com, are up this year 150% vs. last year. More than 60% of sales within the first hour after the NBA Finals ended came through mobile devices. Industry average for  mobile commerce is 29%. For the entire '14-15 season on Fanatics sites, sales for NBA merch were up more than 20%.
