Overnight Ratings: CBS Sees Rise For Wells Fargo Championship Final Round Telecast

CBS drew a 2.4 overnight rating for the final round of the PGA Tour Wells Fargo Championship yesterday, which saw Rory McIlroy win the event by seven shots over Webb Simpson and Patrick Rodgers. That figure is up from a 2.2 overnight last year, which saw J.B. Holmes win by one stroke over Jim Furyk. Last year's event took place in early May, with the final round airing opposite a NASCAR Sprint Cup race on Fox. There was no Sprint Cup competition yesterday. Both years saw competition from NBA and NHL playoff games. McIlroy also won the event by four strokes in '10, with the final round drawing a 2.8 overnight on CBS. Meanwhile, Charlotte also hosted the NASCAR All-Star race on Saturday night, with FS1 drawing a 2.1 overnight for the race. That figure is flat compared to '14.
