No Drag: Monster Energy Drink Signs NHRA's Brittany Force To Three-Year Deal

NHRA drivers Brittany and Courtney Force "were the major factors in Monster Energy Drink on Wednesday announcing a three-year deal for Brittany’s Top Fuel dragster," according to Louis Brewster of the Inland Valley DAILY BULLETIN. John Force Racing Owner John Force had "previously approached" the company 18 months ago, but it was his daughters' chance meeting with Monster VP/Sports Marketing Mitch Covington at a wedding about a year ago which "prompted the renewal of talks." Brittany Force said, "My sister and I have been chasing Monster for a while." She added, "Monster’s all about living life on the edge. I think our sport ties in perfectly to that because there’s nothing more extreme than driving a Top Fuel dragster." Covington said, "Monster’s marketing is built on three things mainly: that’s racing, music and girls. We think that fits great with drag racing. We’re just super excited to be back in this sport." John Force: "I’m no spring chicken. These kids got to take it to the next level. I’m setting up this company to move ahead long range. That’s where Monster was such a fit. They’re talking long range here. They’re not talking a year, two years, three years. We got a contract for three, but they’re looking where they’re going to take her and build the brand with her." Covington: "We look for winning athletes, an athlete that’s committed to competing at the highest level, whether it’s a male or female. It doesn’t hurt that Brittany is a very pretty girl and she looks great in that Monster fire suit" (Inland Valley DAILY BULLETIN, 5/14).
