Media Notes

In St. Louis, Corey Noles noted the NFL’s official website "is hosting a 'Los Angeles Rams' page," but it is "clear that this is simply a remnant of the city’s long lost days" in L.A. Anaheim Stadium "is even listed as the team’s location," and the Raiders' page "does the same thing" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 5/4). NFL Media Group VP/Communications Alex Riethmiller said, "It’s a bug in the system that, when you manipulate the URL, will pull up a legacy team from that city if no current one exists." He added, "The same error occurs if you change the URL to 'BOS.' In that case, a Boston Patriots page will show up with New England Patriots content" (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 5/5).

LIVING ROOM LAUNCH: In Houston, David Barron noted Rockets games this season "averaged a 1.9 Nielsen rating" on Root Sports Southwest. That was up 57% from 1.2 on CSN Houston, the bankrupt RSN that "was sold last November to DirecTV Sports Networks and AT&T, which added coverage this year on DirecTV and U-verse." Rockets analyst Matt Bullard said that he and the team's longtime TV voice, Bill Worrell, "noted the increased viewership." Bullard: "Fans would say, 'Oh, it’s great that you’re back on TV.' Of course, we had been on TV the whole time, but now more people get to see us" (CHRON.com, 5/4).

SHUFFLING THE DECK: THE MMQB's Peter King noted the site's Greg Bedard "is going to cover the NFL for the mothership, Sports Illustrated, while continuing to do a few stories for The MMQB over the next football season." King: "Greg decided to make the move while retaining the ability to do some of the things for our site that have been so hugely popular." Meanwhile, Andy Benoit "will take on a bigger role" with the MMQB as a result (MMQB.SI.com, 5/4).

RADIO ROUNDUP: In Ft. Lauderdale, Dave Hyde reported South Florida "talk-show pioneer Hank Goldberg is back on the local airwaves with a regular, weekday show" on WMEN-AM starting Monday from 3:00-6:00pm ET. Goldberg has "worked in local radio for more than 40 years, including stints at WQAM and WIOD" (SUN-SENTINEL.com, 5/4). Meanwhile, in N.Y., Bob Raissman reported SiriusXM has "signed Adam Schein to a new four-year deal" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 5/3).
