Hang Loose: Jeep Signs On As The Official Auto Sponsor Of World Surf League

Jeep has signed on as the official auto brand of the World Surf League in what is believed to be the first global automotive sponsor for the WSL. Jeep will take entitlement to the leaderboard online and in broadcasts for both the men's and women's WSL tours, and the top surfer in each competition will wear a yellow Jeep-branded leader jersey. The deal also includes TV and digital ads, as well as vehicle placement at WSL events. The surfing circuit will work with the Chrysler brand to create "the ultimate surfing vehicle," and Jeep vehicles will be used as championship prizes in December at the end of the season. Other Jeep sports sponsorships include Juventus, USA Basketball and the X Games. The multiyear sponsorship continues the marketing momentum for the former Association of Surfing Professionals. The WSL also recently extended Samsung's entitlement sponsorship rights and cut a new deal with Tag Heuer as the official timekeeper.
