Adidas Sorry For Sending Mississippi State Warmups With Obscene Ole Miss Phrase

Stricklin said the words on the jerseys
did not reflect MSU's values
adidas has apologized to Mississippi State for including an obscene phrase directed to rival Ole Miss on a "commemorative" MSU baseball warmup, according to Michael Bonner of the Jackson CLARION-LEDGER. The "neon dots on the shirts," which tie into the school's "Stark Vegas" nickname, includes the phrase "F--K The School Up North." Other MSU-themed phrases include "Hail State" and "Left Field Lounge." adidas in its statement said, "The Bulldogs' baselayer graphic today featured old artwork that was never presented to the university." MSU AD Scott Stricklin in a series of tweets wrote, "This afternoon it came to my attention that a shirt provided to our baseball team by adidas has an inappropriate phrase written on it. This is completely unacceptable and does not reflect the standards and values of Mississippi State University or its athletic dept. For anyone who was offended by this shirt, as I was, please accept our apologies and rest assured that this has been rectified" (Jackson CLARION-LEDGER, 4/17).
