X Games Setup Adapting To Heat Issues After Feedback From First Year In Texas

X Games officials are working to make the event in Austin a "better fit" in '15, according to Sean Shapiro of the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN. There are "plans in place for more shade, water stations, and concession stands at Circuit of the Americas," and they have "cut down the number of villages -- interactive themed areas for music, action sports and video games -- from nine to six in an effort to maximize space at the track." There also are "more air-conditioned perks, including lounges and concessions, with VIP packages." ESPN X Games Senior Dir of Marketing & Content Amy Lupo said that all changes "were developed and built around consumer feedback" from the inaugural event in Austin last year. She added that the layout is "changing to accommodate heat issues." Meanwhile, wind issues "caused X Games officials to scrap Moto X Freestyle and adapt it to Moto X Quarterpipe" for '15 (AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 4/1).
