Coyotes radio analyst NICK BOYNTON "was arraigned in Buffalo City Court Friday after he was hit with a handful of charges Thursday -- including assault -- following an incident at a casino." Boynton "posted bail, which was set at $10,000, and his next court appearance is scheduled" for Wednesday. Buffalo Police spokesperson MICHAEL DEGEORGE said that Boynton "was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, harassment, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and obstruction of government administration." Police said that Boynton "became abusive with patrons and security at the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino" (AZCENTRAL.com, 3/27).

Corsi doesn't believe analytics should be a divisive
force within the NHL community
ANALYZE THIS: The GLOBE & MAIL's Eric Duhatschek profiled Blues goaltending coach JIM CORSI, who is "helping to usher in a new era of analytics that is sweeping and dividing the NHL community." The value of analytics has "divided the hockey community into two camps," but Corsi believes it "doesn’t need to be so." Instead of being "framed as an either/or proposition, the reality is, you can be in both." They are a "measure of past performance and can provide a clue to future behaviour" (GLOBE & MAIL, 3/29).

PRESIDENT OBAMA yesterday played golf at the Floridian National Golf Course in Palm City with Astros Owner JIM CRANE, a "major Democratic donor" who also owns the course. Celtics minority owner GLENN HUTCHINS also was in the foursome. On Saturday, Obama played at the resort with Basketball HOFer ALONZO MOURNING and sportscaster AHMAD RASHAD (THEHILL.com, 3/29).

FIVE FOR FIGHTING: Golden Boy Promotions on Friday filed suit in L.A. Superior Court against boxer JHONNY GONZALEZ and his promoter, OSWALDO KUCHLE's Promociones del Pueblo. Golden Boy "claims it has Gonzalez under contract and that Promociones del Pueblo conspired" with boxing manager AL HAYMON to "violate its exclusive rights to promote his bouts." Golden Boy also claims Promociones del Pueblo and Haymon "repeatedly refused to put on" a fight between Gonzalez and GARY RUSSELL JR., which took place Saturday night (ESPN.com, 3/27). 

AND THE WINNERS ARE...: The Magic on Saturday named F TOBIAS HARRIS and G VICTOR OLADIPO co-winners of the '14-15 Rich & Helen DeVos Community Enrichment Award -- an award that "honors a Magic player or players for outstanding community service." Harris and Oladipo "will receive $50,000 apiece to donate to the charity or charities of their choice" (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 3/29)....The Atlantic 10 named Philadelphia Daily News writer DICK JERARDI winner of its '15 Bob Vetrone Media Award (A-10).

Lopez, the husband of late Owner GEORGE STEINBRENNER's daughter, JESSICA, "is in his sixth season" in the role and "oversees the operations" for the Yankees' Spring Training complex (NYPOST.com, 3/29)....A new book by the N.Y. Daily News' GARY MYERS, titled, "BRADY VS.
