Falcons, Legends Pleased With Early Success In PSL Sales For New Atlanta Stadium

Two-and-a-half months into "selling personal seat licenses for their new stadium," the Falcons have collected about $7.5M in "down payments from fans," according to Tim Tucker of the ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION. The team said that it is "pleased with how sales are going -- but won’t say how many seats it has sold." The Falcons began selling PSLs on Jan. 12 for "about 7,700 club seats, at prices ranging from $10,000 to $45,000 apiece." As of Thursday, the team had "deposited down payments totaling $7,501,000 into a bank account managed by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority." The GWCCA said that it "hasn’t received information on how many seats the Falcons have sold, reflecting the team’s strategy to keep that number closely guarded until deeper in the process." Most Falcons seat-license buyers have said that they "made down payments" of 10%, while some said that they put down 33%. Legends Global Sales & Marketing VP/Sales & Service Michael Drake, whose firm is handling the team's PSL sales, said, "Over-arching, we feel really good about where this process is right now." Drake said that he "expects a surge in contracts and down payments around April 10, the next in a series of deadlines for current season-ticket holders to make decisions" (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 3/28).
