Media Notes

In N.Y., Bob Raissman writes if Jets WR Brandon Marshall "continues as Showtime’s featured analyst on 'Inside The NFL,'” Owner Woody Johnson can "count on the always entertaining Jets circus continuing." Raissman: "Just think Hard Knocks as a weekly mini-series." The show is "supposed to be about all NFL teams, and Marshall’s presence puts the focus on Gang Green." All this will "be done with a captive audience of boss Jets scribes" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 3/13).

TRASH TALK: In Boston, Chad Finn writes FS1's “Garbage Time with Katie Nolan” is a "meld of sports, pop culture, and comedy." It will "feature a monologue and guests in the style of a late-night talk show, but it will also feature comedy and longer-form segments, sort of a sports-centric descendent of the Jon Stewart-helmed 'The Daily Show.'” It premieres Sunday night at 9:30pm ET. Nolan gained acclaim for her "acerbic and hilarious spot-on takedowns of such media figures as Peter King and Rick Reilly." But she also has "proven a pointed and poignant commentator on matters that are anything but humorous, such as the Ray Rice domestic violence incident." She "seems to have what it takes to carry her own show" (BOSTON GLOBE, 3/13).

RICK ROLLED: In N.Y., Phil Mushnick writes former NHLer Rick DiPietro is a "character who says what he thinks -- with enthusiasm" on his "Hahn & Humpty" radio show on ESPN Radio 98.7 N.Y. Before the final Rangers-Islanders matchup at Nassau Coliseum on Tuesday, DiPietro said that he will "miss the Coliseum as a fantastic arena in which to play and watch hockey, 'even if you did have to avoid the occasional cockroach'" (N.Y. POST, 3/13).
