Ugg Enlists Sharks, Kings Players To Help Market New Treadlite Footwear Collection

Ugg Australia this week "will start promoting" its new Treadlite collection, and to "spread the word, Ugg reached out" to a group of NHLers, according to Jennie Bell of FOOTWEAR NEWS. Last month, the brand "hosted an on-site VIP lounge" for members of the Kings and Sharks during their '15 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series practices. This "marked the first collaboration between the NHL and Ugg." Ugg VP/Marketing Nancy Mamann said, "With the NHL’s dedicated men’s fanbase, we felt the Stadium Series was the ideal platform to celebrate the launch of our new Treadlite technology. The audience was ideal, bringing together athletes and media under one roof to try on and experience the product firsthand.” Sharks Cs Melker Karlsson and Joe Thornton, G Antti Niemi and Islanders and former Sharks C Tyler Kennedy "visited the suite," as did Kings RWs Dustin Brown and Marian Gaborik, C Anze Kopitar and D Drew Doughty. Mamann said that the athletes’ overall reaction to the Treadlite collection "was very positive." She added that the Coyotes "heard about the line through social media and requested pairs for themselves" (FOOTWEARNEWS.com, 3/2).
