Going To The Dogs: Triumph The Insult Comic Dog Stops By TNT's "Inside The NBA" Set

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog appeared Thursday night on the set of TNT's “Inside the NBA” with co-hosts ERNIE JOHNSON, SHAQUILLE O'NEAL and CHARLES BARKLEY to promote his upcoming show "THE JACK AND TRIUMPH SHOW" on fellow Turner-owned network Adult Swim. Johnson read a promo for the show, to which Triumph, voiced by ROBERT SMIGEL, said, “It’s just a coincidence that you were talking about ‘The Jack and Triumph Show’ and I’m here. Who would have guessed? No synergy.” Johnson asked, “What can you tell me about the show?” Triumph replied, “No one gives a (expletive). We’re here to hear about basketball.” Triumph noted he “humped my way to the top” and “had some fun” with Barkley’s small dogs, Yoohoo and Mango. Barkley said, “That’s a little close to the vest right there.” Triumph: “They’re just dogs, Chuck.” Barkley: “They’re not just dogs! They’re like family members who don’t beg for money.” Triumph then wished Barkley a happy 52nd birthday, which is Friday, and noted, “Your age will finally match your body fat percentage. I’m sorry. Chuck, Chuck, I’m an insult comic. I have to do this.” Triumph said to Johnson, who was wearing a bow tie, “Honestly, what is the bow tie for? Are you worried they won’t be able to pick you out among the black guys?” When O’Neal started to talk, Triumph said, “Speak up, Shaq. Stop the mumbling, Shaq, please. Speak up, you’re going to give the Closed Captioning people a heart attack. Shaq, honestly I love you, but Charlie Brown's teacher is easier to understand.” When a photo of Barkley holding Yoohoo and Mango was shown on-screen, Triumph said, “See you bitches later!” O’Neal then said going into commercial break, “Nice knowing you America. We will be dropped after this segment” (“Inside the NBA,” TNT, 2/19).
