Super Bowl LII Host Committee CEO MAUREEN BAUSCH was "dazzled and daunted by the spectacle" that was Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona. She said that this year's Super Bowl "was 'absolutely amazing,' even for an executive who has seen many of the world’s biggest attractions." Bausch said that she has "already had about 120 meetings" regarding the '18 game in Minneapolis (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 2/19).

Towers was the previously anonymous donor that
had guaranteed Flood's' additional compensation
JERSEY GUY: Rutgers football coach KYLE FLOOD said that JEFF TOWERS, who "had been the leading candidate for the vacant Rutgers recruiting coordinator job, has withdrawn his name from consideration for the position." It was revealed last week that Towers "was the anonymous donor who guaranteed the additional compensation in Flood's contract extension last September." Two sources said that Towers last year pledged a $1M gift "to support the football program" (NJ.com, 2/18).

GET OFF MY LAWN: A lawsuit filed by DONALD TRUMP on Feb. 12 accused the city of Doral, Fla., "of having an 'unconstitutional' noise ordinance." The city "has yet to be served." Since August '14, the city’s code compliance department "has issued more than 100 violations" to Trump National Doral resort and golf course. Records show that the bulk of the violations "are for making 'unreasonably loud noise,' regarding Trump performing grass care, mowing and maintenance activities" (MIAMI HERALD, 2/19).

NAMES: Former Fiesta Bowl CEO JOHN JUNKER "has been released from federal custody and is working as operations manager at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Phoenix." Junker last year "was sentenced to eight months in custody for his role in a campaign-finance scandal" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 2/19)....Former Notre Dame basketball player KAREN ROBINSON KEYES and her husband, KEVIN KEYES, have donated $5M “to endow the women's basketball head coaching position.” While such coaching endowments have “become relatively common," this was "the first at Notre Dame" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 2/19)....The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation “awarded six grants to Pittsburgh-area police K-9 programs totaling $55,000" (PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW, 2/19)....Actor SKYLAR ASTIN “has been tapped to topline ABC’s untitled NBA comedy,” which "centers on a rookie who doesn’t speak English and a translator who doesn’t speak basketball” (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 2/17)....A statue of NASCAR Foundation Chair BETTY JANE FRANCE “will greet visitors as they enter Halifax Medical Center’s 10-story patient tower named in her family’s honor” (Daytona Beach NEWS-JOURNAL, 2/19)....Jaguars LB TELVIN SMITH yesterday visited Paterson Elementary School students JACK and KATE WILKENING, who “lost their home to a fire on Feb. 1” (ESPN.com, 2/18)....Former NFLer NICK HARDWICK bought a home in the Loma Portal area of San Diego for $1.3M (LATIMES.com, 2/18).
