In Chicago, Hopkins & Sachdev report the owners of two Wrigley Field rooftop businesses went to court Thursday to "stop the Cubs from installing a video scoreboard and advertising signs on the outfield walls that will block their views" of the ballpark. A group led by Edward McCarthy said that the team's action has "created a 'life-or-death situation,' and the owners want a temporary restraining order because they say their businesses will be destroyed before the case goes to trial." A Cubs spokesperson said that the team was "reviewing the court filing and had no comment" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 2/13).

THRILL OF VICTORY: Univ. of Minnesota AD Norwood Teague on Thursday said fundraising for the school's $150M athletics facilities project is “way ahead of schedule." He added that $70M "has been raised in about 10 months." In Minneapolis, Joe Christensen notes Teague gave the update before the UM Board of Regents Facilities and Operations Committee on Thursday "approved using $15 million of the money already raised for design purposes." Teague: "I am thrilled with the money we’ve brought in thus far, and I’m thrilled with the prospects of our timeline" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 2/13).

GOOD LOOK AT A T-BONE: The Triple-A Int'l League Durham Bulls on Thursday announced the formation of Bull City Hospitality, a new company that will manage the food and beverage operation at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Bull City Hospitality, which takes over for Centerplate, named Delaware North GM at Edward Jones Dome Dave Levey Dir of Food and Beverage (Durham Bulls).

HIGH FIVE: The FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM reported Texas Motor Speedway is "opening its infield for fans to camp or tailgate and watch the Daytona 500 on its giant video board." The event is free, and the infield will "open for campers" at 9:00amET Feb. 21 and NASCAR’s Xfinity Series Alert Today Florida 300 will air at 3:30pm. The infield "will open" at 9:00am Feb. 22 for the Daytona 500, which begins at 1:00pm (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 2/12).
