Lions' Season-Ticket Prices To Go Up After Winning Season, Increasing By 4%

The Lions "are raising season-ticket prices for the second straight year, though seats at Ford Field are expected to remain in the bottom third of the NFL when it comes to cost," according to Dave Birkett of the DETROIT FREE PRESS. On average, season-ticket prices "are going up" 4.1% for '15, and the Lions have designated games against the Packers, Bears and Broncos as "touchdown" games in their variable ticket-price package. The rest of the Lions' regular-season home slate are "field goal" games for season-ticket holders, and preseason tickets "remain priced at a discount." Season-ticket holders "are locked into those price points, though the cost of seats for 'field goal' games are subject to change on an individual game basis should any be moved to primetime when the schedule is set in April." The Lions last year "raised ticket prices an average of 8.2% coming off a 7-9 season." The Lions' average ticket price for '14 "was $83.36 for season-ticket holders." This year, after going 11-5 and losing in the first round of the playoffs to the Cowboys, the average cost of a seat at Ford Field, "including premium seats, will be $86.59 for season-ticket holders" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 2/4). The Lions said that the two exhibition games "will be much lower than the other regular-season games," still about 75% lower than the NFL average (DETROIT NEWS, 2/4).
