Former Prudential Center Exec Sues Devils' Lamoriello For False Allegations, Resentment

Former Devils Arena Entertainment President RICH KREZWICK "filed suit in federal court Thursday seeking" $2.3M from Devils President & GM LOU LAMORIELLO for "lost wages stemming from his firing" in August '13, according to John Brennan of the Bergen RECORD. The lawsuit alleges that Lamoriello "resented Krezwick’s hiring" in '09 because it "scaled back the scope of Lamoriello’s authority to hockey-related matters." The lawsuit "names only Lamoriello," not new co-Owners JOSH HARRIS and DAVID BLITZER or CEO SCOTT O'NEIL or President of Business Operations HUGH WEBER. Brennan noted Krezwick was "offered a four-year contract to become" CEO of MetLife Stadium at a base salary of $700,000 in '12. The suit alleges former Devils Owner JEFF VANDERBEEK "then induced Krezwick to turn down the offer by promising him a new contract" (Bergen RECORD, 1/24). Krezwick in the suit claims Lamoriello "jeopardized his livelihood by falsely accusing him of running the arena poorly" (AP, 1/24).
