Fantasy Island: FanDuel More Than Quadruples Revenue Generated In '14 Compared To '13

FanDuel said it generated $57.3M in revenue during ’14, more than quadruple the comparable figure for the previous year. The revenue arrived on the backs of $621.7M in player entry fees, similarly about four times the prior year’s take from player entry fees. The aggressive growth, while expected and outlined in newly disclosed financial reports, follows the September announcement of a massive $70M round of Series D venture capital financing. The company ended the year with more than 1 million paid active users, more than five times the 192,942 paid active users at the end of ’13. FanDuel remains unprofitable while it continues through a customer acquisition phase.
