NFL Panthers Continue Five-Year Stadium Plan, Will Overhaul Suites In Offseason

NFL Panthers President Danny Morrison said that the team will "renovate 158 luxury suites at Bank of America Stadium," with work beginning later this month and continuing "for the rest of the offseason," according to Jonathan McFadden of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER. A "major part of the construction will include adding a window-wall system to the suites that eliminates any barricades." Morrison: “You take all your glass and the frame and everything, and it slides into the wall on the side." He said it will give members a “completely open suite." He also said that a "planned middle aisle will make reaching seats more convenient for fans sitting on the left and right." Morrison added that the overhaul "will also see new televisions, carpet and countertops added to each suite." McFadden notes Charlotte-based Wagner Murray Architects "will design the renovated suites" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 1/9). Morrison said that the team expects construction to be "finished by mid-June" and will be "paid for by the Panthers." He added that the "final cost has yet to be determined" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 1/8).
