Overnight Ratings: USC-Nebraska Matchup Leads Weekend Bowl Games

The National University Holiday Bowl led all bowl games in overnight ratings over the weekend, drawing a 3.9 on ESPN for the USC-Nebraska matchup from 8:30pm-12:00am ET on Saturday. That figure is up from a 2.5 overnight for the same bowl in ’13, which featured Texas Tech-Arizona State on a Monday night. The Kansas State-Michigan Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl had the same late Saturday ESPN time slot last year, drawing a 2.9. ESPN also drew a 2.7 for Penn State’s OT win over Boston College in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday, down from a 3.3 overnight for Notre Dame-Rutgers last year.

The chart below lists overnight ratings for sports telecasts on broadcast TV over the weekend, as well as for NBA Christmas Day games on ABC.
