Sources: Bucks' Owners To Contribute $150M To New Arena, Up From Reported $100M

Bucks co-Owners Wes Edens and Marc Lasry have committed "even more" than the $100M they originally announced they would commit toward a new arena, as the figure actually is "at least" at $150M, according to sources cited by Don Walker of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. The disclosure that the owners "agreed to spend" at least $150M, coupled with the $100M former Bucks Owner Herb Kohl pledged, means at least $250M "will go toward the new arena if one is approved and built." The amount of private capital pledged "could go even higher." Milwaukee-based Fiduciary Management Exec Chair Ted Kellner, who is one of six minority investors in the Bucks, believes that the amount of private capital "pledged to the new arena could reach" $300M. There "are at least 14 additional local and regional investors in the team." No specific estimate on what it would cost to build an arena downtown "has been made public" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 12/20).
