Carnival Cruise Lines Allowing Consumers To Vote For Ad To Run In Super Bowl

Carnival Cruise Lines "will air its first Super Bowl commercial" during the Feb. 1 telecast, "offering viewers a chance to win a yearly cruise for life," according to Jeanine Poggi of AD AGE. The company released "four potential spots" on its website and is "asking consumers to vote for their favorite." The winning 60-second spot will run during Super Bowl XLIX on NBC. Carnival is working with BBDO, Atlanta, and cinematographer Wally Pfister on the spots (ADAGE.com, 12/18). In Ft. Lauderdale, Arlene Satchell reports the commercial "will anchor a new marketing campaign that covers all nine of Carnival's brands." The ad "will feature a concept selected partly through consumer input" in an interactive marketing campaign called the "World's Leading Cruise Line Marketing Challenge" (South Florida SUN-SENTINEL, 12/19).
