NBA Franchise Notes: Cavs Happy With Monthly Lottery Process For Select Tickets

Cavaliers Senior VP/Communications Tad Carper said the monthly lottery process the team instituted for the sale of its limited inventory of individual tickets has "gone smoothly from a technological standpoint." Carper said there have been “little bumps in the road here and there with some users because you’re applying systems and processes on our end from a technological standpoint, and sometimes the purchaser or recipient isn’t working with up-to-date technology." Carper: "It's worked for the basic intention we had, which is to get those seats in the hands of those who intended to use them" (CRAINSCLEVELAND.com, 12/17).

EAT A PEACH FOR PEACE: In Atlanta, Steve Hummer writes it is time for Hawks GM Danny Ferry "to come home." Ferry has been on indefinite leave since early September for "repeating a racist comment included in a scouting report" on Heat F Luol Deng, and has "watched from limbo." He has "paid penance enough for a moment’s indiscretion" (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 12/19).

ROCK CITY: In Detroit, Brian Manzullo noted the Pistons are "averaging a league-low 13,764 in attendance per game as of Sunday," so it "shouldn't be a coincidence to see they're planning more halftime entertainment to boost crowds at the Palace of Auburn Hills." The team on Tuesday announced that 11 musical acts "are confirmed for halftime shows this season" (FREEP.com, 12/16).
