Seahawks QB RUSSELL WILSON, who is "eligible for a new deal after this season, is changing agents." Sources said that Wilson is "likely to go with his baseball agent, MARK RODGERS." Wilson "did speak recently with his former NFL agent BUS COOK, and praised Cook." A source said that Cook "was not fired, but simply the quarterback had decided to make a change" (ESPN.com, 12/17).

ICY RELATIONSHIP: Longtime Univ. of Minnesota-Duluth women's hockey coach SHANNON MILLER last week was told by AD JOSH BERLO that she and her two assistants, all women, "would not be retained after the season." Miller is the "highest-paid NCAA Division I women's hockey coach at $207,000 a year," but her contract is expiring following the season. She said that she "had retained a lawyer who specialized in Title IX and gender-equity cases." Berlo "called the decision difficult and strictly financial." He said that he "could not make Miller a fair offer without knowing next year's budget, which he would not have for several months" (N.Y. TIMES, 12/18). 

OHIO PLAYERS: Miami Univ. (Ohio) alums RANDY GUNLOCK and his wife VICKI on Tuesday announced a $6M gift, one of the "largest single donations ever given to the Athletic Department." It will be "used to construct the Gunlock Family Performance Center." The center "will be built between Yager Stadium and the Indoor Sports Center that is currently under construction." It will "feature a weight room, football locker room, offices for coaching staff, players' lounge, team meeting rooms, hydrotherapy area, student-athlete rehabilitation center, recruiting and equipment room, and reception area" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 12/16).

CHARITY STRIPE: Former MLBers HIDEKI MATSUI and DEREK JETER "will team up" to hold a baseball charity event to "support children affected by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami" in Matsui's native Japan on March 21. The event takes place at the Tokyo Dome and "will include over 600 participants, including a group of baseball players from the Tohoku region." It will "include a baseball clinic and a home run derby between Matsui and Jeter" (AP, 12/17)....Several Wizards players along with coach RANDY WITTMAN, yesterday "began carrying stacks of presents into an apartment" in Southeast DC (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 12/17)....New MLB Rangers manager JEFF BANISTER and SS ELVIS ANDRUS yesterday conducted an "Evening with the Rangers," which included dinner at the Capital One Club at Globe Life Park. Rangers co-Chair RAY DAVIS also was in attendance. The event benefited the Texas Rangers Foundation  (MLB.com, 12/17).

Gregory notes one of her travel "must-haves" is a four-wheeled suitcase. She also offers seven key pointers to packing for business trips (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 12/18)....USA Track & Field Advisory Committee Chair JON DRUMMOND yesterday "got an eight-year ban." Arbitrators found Drummond had "possessed, trafficked, and administered banned performance enhancing substances to an athlete under his care as a coach." That athlete, TYSON GAY, "provided evidence against the coach, cooperation that led the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency to cut Gay’s two-year doping ban in half" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 12/18)....Blackhawks C JONATHAN TOEWS sold his three-bedroom Chicago condo for $2.249M (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 12/17)....Clippers coach and Senior VP/Basketball Operations DOC RIVERS “bought a home in Hollywood Hills West last month” and has now “sold his condominium unit at the Beverly West Residences” in the Westwood neighborhood of L.A. for $6.2M (LATIMES.com, 12/16)....Boxer FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. “caused a stir” in Midtown Manhattan yesterday “while holiday shopping in the Diamond District” (N.Y.
