Resignation By Univ. Of Michigan's Lochmann Comes Amid Staff Shakeup

Michigan Senior Associate AD & CMO Hunter Lochmann's resignation yesterday came less than two months after former AD Dave Brandon departed the university and "less than one week after" Lochmann's "controversial comments surrounding the Michigan brand being more important than the players who represent it," according to Nick Baumgardner of MLIVE.com. The school "is not sure if it will completely fill Lochmann's role moving forward" (MLIVE.com, 12/17). In Detroit, Angelique Chengelis notes Lochmann's salary "was $215,000" (DETROIT NEWS, 12/18). Also in Detroit, Mark Snyder notes Lochmann's chain of command "shifted in early December," when Senior Associate AD/Development Chrissi Rawak "further expanded her role." In early fall, Rawak "had been given a broader reach over the video, creative and communications departments," after Senior Associate AD/Communications, Broadcast, Multimedia & Creative Services Pete Skorich "left the department." Then, "a few weeks ago, all of the external relations, including marketing, were placed under her authority, as well." The current U-M online staff directory shows that she now "is listed just under" interim AD Jim Hackett as Exec Associate AD/External Relations & Strategic Initiatives (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 12/18).
