Oyo Sports' NHL Jets Figurines Selling Fast At Winnipeg Retailers

NHL Jets figurines made by Massachusetts-based toy manufacturer Oyo Sports "are flying off the shelves of the few stores that offer the limited edition toys," according to Doug Lunney of the WINNIPEG SUN. The toys "are similar to and compatible with Lego products." Local toy store Kite & Kaboodle Owner Jim Cordingley said that Oyo has "offered sports-related mini-figures for years, but this is its first year in producing a full-line of NHL teams." Cordingley was "ramping up orders to meet the demand and was expecting a third shipment" today. He has "several Jets players on back order and was yet to receive either of the two goaltenders, Ondrej Pavelec or Michael Hutchinson." Individual players "are $12.99 each, but the goalies go for $14.99." Oyo "even offers each team’s Zamboni, which go for $22.99." Cordingley said that the "detail on the figures is remarkable." Cordingley: "Even the skin tones on the players are accurate, and they put beards and moustaches on the guys who have them." He added that Jets D Dustin Byfuglien "has been the store’s top seller" (WINNIPEG SUN, 12/11).
