Pacific Time: Hublot Launches Limited-Edition Lakers Watch With $28K Price Tag

Available exclusively at Hublot's Beverly
Hills boutique, the watch costs $27,900
Swiss watch brand Hublot "has launched a limited-edition timepiece awash in the trappings" of the Lakers' purple and gold, according to Adam Tschorn of the L.A. TIMES. It is "being touted as the 'official watch'" of the Lakers. The team’s version of Hublot's King Power timepiece "boasts a 48 mm black carbon fiber case, an open case back with the team name across the sapphire crystal and the Lakers logo at the 3 'clock position on the dial." The minute markings on the watch face "are accented in black, purple and yellow." The watch "comes with two interchangeable straps: one in black rubber with a swatch of genuine yellow (make that gold) Laker jersey over top, and a second in an all-black gummy alligator strap also layered over black rubber." Both are "accented with purple and gold stitching." The $27,900 timepiece, which was "officially launched at a Nov. 6 Beverly Hills dinner" attended by Lakers G Kobe Bryant and Basketball HOFer James Worthy, was "produced in a limited run of just 50 numbered pieces, available exclusively through Hublot's Beverly Hills boutique" (L.A. TIMES, 12/2).
