76ers Become The Latest Team To Sign Daily Fantasy Sports Deal, Partner With DraftKings

The gold rush of daily fantasy sports games sponsorships is continuing, with the 76ers announcing a partnership today with DraftKings. Included in the deal is stanchion and courtside LED signage, digital assets, radio ad inventory, hospitality and tickets. The 76ers will host daily fantasy games offering non-cash prizes on the team’s website and stage in-game promotions. Sources said the deal is in the mid-six figures annually. While the league has proscribed that deals in the daily fantasy category be one year, 76ers Chief Revenue Officer Chris Heck said it should net out as a multiyear arrangement. The Wizards also have completed a DraftKings deal, and the company is expected to sign as many as a half-dozen NBA deals this season. DraftKings last month signed an NHL league deal, while FanDuel went with the NBA and reached team deals with the Knicks, Nets, Bulls, Mavericks and Magic. Heck said that DraftKings is the fourth top-level deal signed by the team in the past 10 months. The others were StubHub, PartyPoker and Rothman Institute at Jefferson hospitals. Despite the team’s 0-17 record to start the season, Heck cited improvements off the court, with 14 new six-figure corporate partners combining for a 30% increase in sponsorship revenues, as well as a doubling of the season-ticket base.
