Burbank Bob Hope Airport Hopes To Raise Awareness With Upcoming Rose Bowl Promo

The Burbank Bob Hope Airport in California is hoping to raise awareness by "targeting college sports fans throughout the country with bowl season around the corner," according to Chad Garland of the BURBANK LEADER. The airport on Monday will launch a sweepstakes on the Rose Bowl's Facebook page in which entrants "will have a chance to win a trip for two to the 'big game' on New Year's Day in Pasadena." Airfare, hotel accommodations and dinner will be provided. Burbank Bob Hope Airport is the "official airport of the Rose Bowl Stadium." The promo includes a deal with UCLA "to get the message 'Fly BUR' to the university's network of alumni, Bruins fans and their rivals on UCLA websites, in social media and in all print publications." Signage around the Rose Bowl field and the "large LED video board ... also display the airport's message." Similar promos are planned for "basketball season, with signs inside Pauley Pavilion and a sweepstakes for a trip to the Pac-12 men's basketball tournament in Las Vegas." The association with UCLA is part of the three-year deal the airport signed with IMG College in May '13 (BURBANK LEADER, 11/26).
