Franchise Notes

In Chicago, Lewis Lazare noted the Bulls on Wednesday launched a TV campaign "developed in-house" featuring three commercials that "are collectively titled 'Chicago Basketball is Home.'" Each of the three Bulls players featured in the campaign -- G Derrick Rose, C Joakim Noah and F Taj Gibson -- "is seen in a separate 30-second spot driving to work through the Chicago cityscape." Each player is shown "in a highly-reflective mode" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 10/30).

DO YA PHIL ME: In Philadelphia, Matt Gelb reports Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. this week "unveiled The Phillies Way, a handbook distributed to all baseball personnel -- coaches, scouts, athletic trainers included -- during the team's organizational meetings." Amaro "planned it, well before the franchise shifted to a rebuilding phase, and decided this was the ideal time to affirm the team's direction." There "is a clearer course, at last, but the daunting application of said plan will require patience" (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 10/31).

DESERT OASIS: In Phoenix, Paul Coro notes the Suns "are the first Valley team to equip their facility with iBeacons, which are transmitters that push notifications to fans with the Suns mobile app about concession or merchandise deals." Fans with the app "can also find out which arena entrances have the shortest wait times," and see "live shots from camera angles that are not part of the broadcast and hear conversations at the scorer's table" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 10/31).
