Chandler Parsons' On-Court Success Opening Doors To Modeling Opportunities

The modeling career for Mavericks F Chandler Parsons "is off to a sizzling start" after deals with Buffalo jeans and Ocean Pacific, according to Eddie Sefko of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. Parsons recently filmed a spot in which he appears "shirtless and wearing low-cut Buffalo jeans" by David Bitton. He also promotes surf clothier Ocean Pacific and "had a photo shoot last season that included" model Nina Agdal. Parsons: "Without me being successful on the court, you can’t have anything off the court. So with that in mind, I signed with [agent] Dan Fegan and everything kind of took off. Different companies, different brands reached out to me." Parsons said of the ads, "No NBA player, no real athlete ever, has even done that. You get some jokes at first and people hating on it a little bit. But at the end of the day, I thought it was a good thing. People liked the way it looked and I had fun with it." Mavs President of Basketball Operations & GM Donnie Nelson said of whether the club has any problems with Parsons’ modeling career, "Not as long as it doesn’t impact performance. Everyone has endorsement deals and appearances and friends in high places. That’s the world we live in. If it trickles into performance, that’s when you have to have your sit-down and make sure everyone is on the same page. But I don’t think any of those things are going to be an issue." Sefko noted Parsons will "continue to work as a model -- but mostly in the offseason" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 10/26).
