Nets Offering "Loyalty Insurance" To Cover Losses On Resold Tickets This Season

The Nets are preparing for "renewals on all 4,400 All Access season tickets for the first time" since the arena opened in '12, but these tickets will now "come with loyalty insurance," according to Matthew Flamm of CRAIN'S N.Y. BUSINESS. Beginning with the '14-15 season, the team will "cover up to 15% of the total season-ticket purchase price for those tickets that the holder resells." The "only caveat is that the tickets must be resold via an authorized Ticketmaster site" and not through other secondary ticket resellers. Nets and Barclays Center COO Fred Mangione said that the team "has access to customer data so it can see what resold ticket went for." He did not disclose whether the Nets "would get a piece of the Ticketmaster resale." Flamm reported prices for the All Access passes will range from $135-1,450 per seat and "will be on average 14% higher than they were when fans were first offered the deluxe, three-season package before the arena opened." All Access ticket holders will receive "free beer and wine for the half-hour before the game begins," which comes on top of the "all-the-concession-food-you-can-eat feature that has been included in the All Access ticket price from the beginning." Renewals for both one- and two-year commitments will be accepted through Dec. 30 (CRAINSNEWYORK.com, 10/23).
