Nivea Men Signs On To Be Presenting Sponsor Of Inaugural FXFL Season

The fledgling Fall Experimental Football League has signed Nivea Men as its presenting sponsor. Nivea Men joins apparel/supplier adidas as the developmental league’s initial corporate patrons in what the FXFL was calling a multiyear deal. The four-team league, which is playing a six-week schedule on Wednesday and Friday nights, began play Oct. 8 and has its championship game scheduled for Nov. 26, the day before Thanksgiving. “Landing a partner like Nivea is a great start for us," said league Founder & Commissioner Brian Woods. Nivea Men will have its name within three circular logos, each approximately five yards in diameter, on the field of play. There will also be branding on the goalposts, jerseys, helmets and towels. Most of these elements are expected to be on display during tomorrow night's Omaha Mammoths-Brooklyn Bolts game. The deal was brokered by The Leverage Agency, N.Y., the FXFL's sponsorship agency. Nivea will headline halftime shows, have sampling at games, and each of the league's 160 players will receive a goodie bag of Nivea products. Nivea Men will also sponsor the MVP award, buy ads on FXFL broadcasts and be integrated in a planned reality show about the league. Players, who earn around $1,000 a week, will support the sponsorship through social media channels and appearances. The league will be seen on ESPN3 and on an unwired network of RSNs, including SNY, MASN and NESN.
