What's New? First-Year Coach Jason Kidd Featured In Bucks TV Ads For '14-15

Bucks coach Jason Kidd "stars in the team's first television commercial for the upcoming season, driving his Range Rover past several Milwaukee landmarks before delivering a punch line," according to Rich Kirchen of the MILWAUKEE BUSINESS JOURNAL. Milwaukee-based agency Stir LLC produced the team's new ads, and company Owner Brian Bennett said that they "will debut the week of Oct. 26 and target young adults who are passionate about sports as well as business owners who are the key for season-ticket sales." Bennett: "The goal here is to get the market acquainted with all the new people -- the players, management and coaches." Kirchen noted Stir was "retained by the Bucks a year-and-a-half ago but the advertising budget has increased significantly" under new team co-Owners Marc Lasry and Wes Edens. The first ad begins with Kidd in the car with his radio "tuned to a mock sports-talk station." The radio announcer asks if the Bucks "are ready for the new season under the new regime with 'Jason Kidd at the helm.'" The voice on the radio then "asks 'Can Jason Kidd put it all together?' and says 'Hey Jason, you're on the clock.'" Kidd "pulls up to the BMO Harris Bradley Center, shakes his head and grins," before looking at the camera to say "Let's do this" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 10/22).

WELCOME TO THE CLUB: In Milwaukee, Don Walker reports Milwaukee-based Palermo's Pizza President & CEO Giacamo Fallucca has become "a member of the ownership group" for the Bucks. Fallucca's investment "brings to 14 the number of known local or regional investors in the franchise." Lasry and Bucks investor Jamie Dinan "had pledged to include local investors in the team" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 10/23).
