In N.Y., Ben Rothenberg reports retiring tennis player Li Na and her agent, Max Eisenbud, "have ambitions to attach her to other projects" on top of the impending Li Na Tennis Academy, "including hotels, resorts and spas branded with her name." There "are even plans to start a line of home and bath goods under Li’s name." Li and her husband "have appeared together in commercials in China, and Eisenbud believes she can capitalize on a more domestic image in retirement." As for the academy, locations "are already being scouted" (N.Y. TIMES, 9/22).

SNOOPY BOWL: On Long Island, Neil Best reported NFL Giants coach Tom Coughlin and Jets coach Rex Ryan "will make a joint appearance beginning Sept. 28 in a commercial for MetLife, marking the first time the company has leveraged its relationships with the teams that play in the stadium it sponsors in such a way." The spot was recorded the day after the teams' preseason matchup in August, "but because of conflicting schedules, the coaches did their parts separately and were made to look as if they were sitting next to one another through the magic of video" (NEWSDAY, 9/21).

THERE ROSE A LUSTY YELL: Chrysler on Saturday launched the first of three 30-second spots featuring Tigers 1B Miguel Cabrera to promote its new '15 Chrysler 200. The campaign, via Doner, Detroit, also features a spot titled "Game Changers," which focuses on how Cabrera changes the game every time he plays. This is the second Chrysler campaign featuring Cabrera (Chrysler).
