NHL Media Notes: Coyotes Reach New Three-Year Radio Deal For All Games

The Coyotes have signed a new three-year deal with Bonneville Phoenix Media & Marketing to broadcast all of the team's games on Phoenix-based KTAR-AM. Game broadcasts will each include 30 minutes of pre-game coverage and 30 minutes of post-game coverage. Coyotes radio play-by-play announcer Bob Heethuis will return for his 10th season with the team and will be joined by former NHLer Nick Boynton. The pre- and post-game shows will be hosted by Luke Lapinski. Todd Walsh will continue to contribute features (Coyotes).

BETTER HALVES: YAHOO SPORTS' Greg Wyshynski reported the wives of Kings RW Dustin Brown and Canucks G Ryan Miller "are two of the cast members for 'Hockey Wives,' a new reality series that chronicles the lives of eight women who are married to NHL players." The series is "scheduled to debut on Canada’s W Network" in February. There currently is "no U.S. cable home for the series, which is expected to run 8-12 episodes in its first season." NHL Network "took a pass" on the series (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 9/17). The CP noted the show is produced by Bristow Global Media, which last season "created the series 'NHL Revealed: A Season Like No Other' in partnership" with the NHL and NHLPA (CP, 9/18).

GEEK SQUAD: TSN on Tuesday announced the creation of a "TSN Hockey Analytics" team that will focus on advanced stats. It will feature original content, delivering a new perspective to hockey coverage across TSN platforms, including live game broadcasts, TSN.ca, the TSN GO app and TSN Radio stations across Canada. The analytics team will be made up of blogger Travis Yost, the Globe & Mail's James Mirtle and TSN's Scott Cullen (TSN).
