Overnight Ratings: CBS' Georgia-South Carolina Leads College Football After Lightning Delay

CBS led all college football broadcasts over the weekend with a 4.2 overnight rating for South Carolina’s upset win over Georgia, which saw a nearly 90-minute delay at the start due to lightning. ABC’s Tennessee-Oklahoma in primetime on Saturday ranked second among CFB telecasts for the weekend with a 2.2 overnight, followed by a 2.1 rating for both NBC’s Purdue-Notre Dame and Fox’ UCLA-Texas. ESPN’s top game of the weekend was ECU’s upset over Virginia Tech in the 12:00pm ET window on Saturday.

BILLY THE KID: NBC earned a 1.7 overnight for Billy Horschel’s win at The Tour Championship yesterday, which also saw the 27-year-old golfer win the PGA Tour’s FedExCup Playoffs. Last year, the final round was delayed by weather and concluded on a Monday. The 1.7 rating yesterday is down from a 2.2 in ’12, when Brandt Snedeker won the event and the FedExCup. Tiger Woods did not play in this year’s finale and finished tied for eighth in ’12.
