New Food Offerings At Sun Life Stadium Include Signature Items From Former Players

The Dolphins on Tuesday "previewed seven new food vendors, which will offer everything from Cuban Guys' sandwiches ($10) to BurgerFi veggie burgers ($9) at Sun Life Stadium when the season gets underway Sept. 7," according to John Tanasychuk of the South Florida SUN-SENTINEL. Most of the new food "is more expensive at the stadium" than at the vendors' restaurants. The bigger concession news "might be the $5 domestic draft beer that will be available at select locations around the stadium." A new value menu "includes $4 hot dogs and $3 popcorn." Dolphins President & CEO Tom Garfinkel said, "Paying $14 for a beer is probably too much." Two former Dolphins "now own restaurants that will be serving their signature sports bar fare: Bob Brudzinski's Bru's Room and Kim Bokamper's eponymously named Sports Bar & Grill" (South Florida SUN-SENTINEL, 8/27).

MAN VS. FOOD: In Minneapolis, Paul Walsh reported the Vikings and team concessionaire Aramark will feature new food at TCF Bank Stadium this season, including the "40 for 60 Burger," which "is a tribute" to former Vikings great Joe Kapp’s gameday philosophy that "40 men must play as one for 60 minutes." The $13 burger "sports a patty" of 40% bacon and 60% ground beef. It is "topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, crispy onions, a fried egg, a special sauce and even more bacon." That is "all squeezed onto a pretzel bun" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 8/27).
