Braun Tapped As Official Shaver Of NFL, With Russell Wilson As Lead Spokesperson

Braun today was announced as the official shaver of the NFL and unveiled its new branding campaign, "#FaceGreatness with Braun Confidence." Seahawks QB Russell Wilson will be the brand's official U.S. spokesperson. The campaign, which began with a social media "pep talk" engagement with Wilson this week, officially launched today via print ads, online videos and digital content on Braun's website and social properties (Braun). USA TODAY's Nate Scott notes Braun's new commercial shows Wilson "psyching himself up in a mirror before putting on pads and heading to work." A closer look shows that Braun "made sure Wilson got rid of that beard he was rocking last postseason" (USATODAY.com, 8/7).

RUSSELL ATHLETIC: In Seattle, Josh Kerns noted locally based Alaska Airlines today will "begin airing the first of three new spots starring Wilson." The commercials feature Wilson, the airline's Chief Football Officer, putting airline employees "through their paces in a special training camp that includes a luggage-toting high-stepping obstacle course, a lost teddy bear running drill, and flight attendants honing their throwing skills in a snack delivery accuracy training." The first spot will air on TV stations from Bellingham to Vancouver, Wash., and be "featured prominently" during tonight's Seahawks-Broncos preseason game (MYNORTHWEST.com 8/6).
