In N.Y., Goldstein & Protess report the FBI and SEC have in their investigation of golfer PHIL MICKELSON "found no evidence" that he traded Clorox shares. However, Mickelson and sports gambler BILLY WALTERS "still face an investigation over separate well-timed trades they made in Dean Foods in 2012 just before the company's stock soared." Mickelson "received some assurances from the government itself." Sources said that an FBI agent has informed Mickelson that the government "is seeking information from him about Mr. Walters and has no plans to criminally charge him" (N.Y. TIMES, 6/12).

GIRL POWER: WNBAers NNEKA OGWUMIKE and CHINEY OGWUMIKE are "two of the most prominent Nigerian-American athletes" in the U.S., and last week they "rolled out the details of their relationship with UNICEF." Creating a competition for middle school and high school girls' basketball teams, the sisters have "hatched a fundraising effort in which teams compete to raise the most money to benefit UNICEF's U.S. Fund, including the Girls' Education Project, which aims to give 1 million girls in northern Nigeria access to quality learning, provide scholarships for female teachers and establish safe spaces for girls." The Ogwumikes will "devote their time and energies to the new program while playing through their WNBA seasons" (ESPNW.com, 6/10).

TOP OF THE HEAP: The NBA D-League named Ft. Wayne Mad Ants President JEFF POTTER its Team Exec of the Year. Potter oversees all business and basketball operations, and as a member of the BOD for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce helped land the Mad Ants' first presenting sponsorship in team history with the Lutheran Health Network (NBADL).

ACTING LESSONS: The story of late Univ. of Texas DB FREDDIE STEINMARK, who was "on a national championship team in 1969 and succumbed to bone cancer two years later," will be portrayed in the movie "MY ALL AMERICAN." Steinmark had "his left leg amputated the year his team won the title and then later died." The movie stars actor AARON ECKHART as coach DARRELL ROYAL and actor FINN WITTROCK as Steinmark. It is "scheduled to be ready for theaters by the end of the year."
