In Akron, Katie Byard noted local 7-Eleven stores "began selling the LeBron Slurpee earlier this week." Heat F LeBron James "originally worked with Coca-Cola Co. to create the Sprite 6 Mix soda, introduced earlier this year." The Sprite 6 Mix Slurpee -- like the Sprite limited-edition beverage -- is a "mix of lemon-lime Sprite, orange and cherry flavors." Customers at 7-Eleven beginning June 9 "can get a free Sprite 6 Mix Slurpee with a coupon on the convenience store chain’s mobile app" (OHIO.com, 5/28).

GOING ONCE, GOING TWICE...: SPORTING NEWS' Jeff Owens noted NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. has "landed a deal to become a spokesman for the eBay Garage." The company also will "sponsor Earnhardt in the Nationwide Series race at Michigan next month." Earnhardt yesterday "announced the deal on Twitter" (SPORTINGNEWS.com, 5/28).

BREATH OF FRESH AIR:  Airbus LPGA Classic presented by JTBC Tournament Dir Jonathan Romeo said that he "believes an announcement as to the future of the tournament and its title sponsorship will be made in the near future." In Alabama, Tommy Hicks noted Airbus "signed a one-year deal as title sponsor" prior to this year's event. Romeo added, "I think you'll see something happen pretty quickly. They have learned a lot from this event and we've learned a lot from this event as far as what works for Airbus and what doesn't work for Airbus" (AL.com, 5/27).

ROUNDUP: The Antigua Group yesterday announced golfer Stacy Lewis will represent the company on the LPGA for three additional years through '17 (Antigua)....La Liga club FC Barcelona F Lionel Messi has signed a three-year contract with Dutch Space Scooter. He will help design and promote his own special edition of the scooter under his own brand. Dutch owner Easy2 Company B.V. will globally license Space Scooter under Messi's brand (Dutch).
