Brooks Running Co. Set To Open New HQ In Seattle, Complete With Retail Store

Brooks Running Co. this summer moves into its new 80,000-square-foot HQ in Seattle, and it will be the company's "first permanent home in the city and its biggest ever," according to Jennifer Ernst Beaudry of WOMEN'S WEAR DAILY. The facility also will "house the brand's first retail store, to be located on the ground floor." Brooks with the new HQ will "be able to bring all its global employees, as well as its biomechanics lab, under one roof." Features such as "kinetic outdoor sculptures, bike racks, edible native plants and extra-wide spaces around the entry level are designed to make the place welcoming to the public." The new building, constructed by Skanska USA Commercial Development, will have "a green focus, reducing its water and energy usage by at least" 75% compared with similarly sized buildings (WWD.com, 5/16).
