Microsoft yesterday released a new spot for its Surface Pro 2 tablet featuring Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (THE DAILY). PHONEARENA.com's Maxwell R. wrote the use of Wilson and other celebrities "bring a lot of visibility" to the product. It also helps that the Seahawks "are in Microsoft's back yard" (PHONEARENA.com, 5/5).

BACK ON TRACK: USA TODAY's Jeff Gluck notes NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer yesterday "signed a multiyear contract extension to remain" with Michael Waltrip Racing and sponsor 5-hour Energy, which will be on the car "for 24 of the 36 races each season with additional sponsorship from Peak and AAA Mid-Atlantic." The renewal is "important for MWR, which lost sponsor NAPA last season after being involved in a scandal at the final regular-season race" (USA TODAY, 5/6).

JOY OF PEPSI: Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group on Friday announced a multiyear deal with PepsiCo as an official supplier for OSEG sports teams and the city's new downtown sports and entertainment venue, TD Place. The deal makes Pepsi the official beverage, sports drink, sport nutrition and snack provider of OSEG. Pepsi will get signage at TD Place, home of the CFL Ottawa Redblacks and NASL club Ottawa Fury (OSEG).

GAME ON
: REUTERS' Baker & Nayak cited sources as saying that Comcast and EA are "close to reaching an agreement to stream video games such as 'FIFA' and 'Madden,' into the living rooms of some of Comcast's more-than 22 million customers." The sources said that Comcast would "make the games available on X1, a video operating system with apps and an interface that is considered the most sophisticated in the cable industry." Revenue share terms and the exact release date "have not been decided" (REUTERS, 5/2).
