COURT REPORT: Baseball HOFer BROOKS ROBINSON two years ago fell six feet from an "unsecured stage during a charity event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino" and now is "suing the Seminole Tribe for almost" $10M for his permanent injuries. Robinson "still experiences bleeding on the brain, cracks in his spine, and has lost five inches in height as a result of his injuries." Under the state of Florida's legal agreement with the tribe, if someone is "injured at a tribal casino and wants to sue, the tribe's payment is capped at $200,000 per person and $300,000 per incident, the same limits that apply when the state is sued for negligence." Robinson's attorney, JACK HICKEY, is asking the tribe "to waive the liability cap and pay" $9.9M to "compensate for Robinson's surgeries, medications and physical therapy" (MIAMI HERALD, 4/14)

IN MEMORY: Journalist ZANDER HOLLANDER "died on Friday in a nursing home in Manhattan" at the age of 91. His wife, PHYLLIS, said that the "cause was Alzheimer's disease." Hollander annually provided "statistics, team rosters, records, schedules and predictions for the coming season in the form of brick-size tomes he titles, 'Complete Handbooks.'" He offered them "for hockey, baseball, soccer and college and professional football and basketball." Hollander also "chronicled sports bloopers and wrote a history of Madison Square Garden, among other subjects." All told, he "edited, wrote or packaged 300 books" (N.Y. TIMES, 4/15).
