FS1 Next Month To Launch New Weekday Show Called "America's Pregame"

FS1 is launching a new studio show on April 7 that will anchor its weekday afternoon line-up. "America's Pregame" will be hosted by Mike Hill in the 6:00-7:00pm ET timeslot and will be using "whiparounds" to Fox Sports' 22 RSNs across the country. On-air talent from Fox' RSNs will be providing regular reports for the show, said FS1 GM & COO David Nathanson. "Probably the one asset we're most known for is the NFL pregame show," said Nathanson. "We thought, why not try to blow that up, utilize our assets of regional sports networks and talent, and try to create the pregame show for America every night." The show replaces "Fox Football Daily," which also was hosted by Hill and will remain on the air in the 6:00pm window until March 27. "It makes more sense to have a multisport show during basketball season than a football show during basketball season," Nathanson said. Fox plans to use the show as a preview of the most interesting games and events taking place that night, regardless of which network is carrying them. Nathanson believes the "look ahead" nature of the show -- 80% of the show will be talking about upcoming games -- will differentiate it from some of ESPN's afternoon studio offerings, like "SportsCenter," "PTI" and "Around the Horn." "We have a different voice; we have different personalities; and we think our approach is going to be very different to what the competition is doing," Nathanson said. "Nobody has done a show on a daily basis that's a multi-sport show that is not afraid to promote what is on other networks, that is not afraid to tackle multiple sports looking forward, as opposed to looking backward."
