Russell Wilson's MLB Rangers Gear Selling Well Online As Team Sells Out Allotment

Fanatics.com said that Seahawks QB Russell Wilson's No. 3 MLB Rangers jersey and T-shirt are "among the top-5 MLB sales for players in the last week," according to Richard Durrett of ESPN DALLAS. The Rangers "sold the items" starting last Sunday at Surprise Stadium in Arizona and Monday in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and at Globe Life Park. The team sold out of its "original allotment -- 500 units -- in all locations and has placed re-orders." Rangers Exec VP/Business Operations Rob Matwick said, "It may not sound like 500 is a lot of product, but for a guy that was in camp one day, that’s impressive." Fanatics.com's data showed that Wilson's T-shirt alone "was one of the top-selling MLB items overall on Tuesday and Wednesday." The site said that its internal numbers "show that Seattle was the top-selling market for MLB gear" last week. Fanatics President of Merchandising Jack Boyle said, "He (Wilson) didn’t take the field until Monday, so we weren’t selling product prior to that and he’s been selling very well. The newness sells" (ESPNDALLAS.com, 3/7).
