Ray Rice's Relationship With BodyArmor SuperDrink May Have Ended After Arrest

Ravens RB Ray Rice's relationship with BodyArmor SuperDrink, which has lasted nearly a year and a half, "may have come to an end" after his arrest last week, according to Baltimore-based WBFF-Fox. All images of Rice on the company's website "had been removed" by yesterday afternoon. Rice "has endorsed the drink since before the team became Super Bowl champions." He was "one of four NFL players to endorse the product," but this week, Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski, Eagles RB LeSean McCoy and Colts QB Andrew Luck "were the only three to remain on the company's website." The company by last night had not responded to inquiries for comment, while several other sponsors of Rice emailed statements. M&T Bank also sponsors Rice, and the company in a statement wrote, "We don't have enough information to comment right now, but we are evaluating information as it comes in to us." Athletic training device manufacturer Vertimax "has decided to keep Rice on board -- at least for now." The company in a statement wrote, "We will continue to monitor and evaluate this situation" (FOXBALTIMORE.com, 2/25). Meanwhile, BodyArmor yesterday announced that it has signed Rockets G James Harden to an endorsement deal. Per the deal, Harden will hold an equity stake in the company (BodyArmor).
